Serial fiction is a way of releasing a book in instalments, usually chapter by chapter, similar to how some TV episodes air every week. Readers can follow along in real-time, leaving their thoughts on every chapter to give the authors instant feedback, or wait until the book is finished to then binge in one go.

Early access lets you read a book before it's released more widely. I offer this as a benefit on all of my subscription tiers. Readers can unlock access to each chapter of my ongoing books before I post them anywhere else. This is usually a certain number of chapters, or a certain amount of time, beforehand.
