Balancing writing with a full-time job can be a struggle at times, and as reader trends and behaviour evolved, I needed to decide on the best home for my books.

I've always released stories via the 'serial fiction' approach, uploading chapters weekly. A subscription model felt like the next step, where I could continue to offer the same reading experience and environment that my followers know and love, while also giving them the opportunity to financially support me in exchange for exclusive benefits.

While I've had opportunities in the past to 'paywall' chapters, I lost a large % of revenue to the hosting reading platforms / app stores. As well as that, I had to give up some creative control too around cover art, blurbs, and censored content. Running a subscription puts me back in control so I can prioritise my readers' experience.

Despite this, I don't envisage a future where I stop offering free books. I started off my writing career by offering free books. That's how I grew my audience, and I'm incredibly grateful for that. Charging for some of my content allows me to ensure I can still afford to release new stories for free too.

It depends on the tier! I've tried to offer value for money across all tiers, so even the lowest-priced option unlocks two exclusive books and early access to my newest projects.

Yes. I completely appreciate that some readers may only want to join to unlock access to a certain book(s). There is no minimum term, so you can cancel at any point and you'll still have access until your next billing date.
